Thoracic Surgery

Hernias

Hernias are defects or holes in the abdominal wall. The skin overlies this defect, and it looks like a bulge that usually comes and goes. Some hernias close on their own, but most require surgery.

Genitourinary

Head & Neck Mass

In most children, head and neck masses are usually benign. Some congenital cysts, though, often require surgical removal.

Congenital masses:

Benign and malignant:

  • Enlarged lymph nodes
  • Lymphangiomas (cystic hygromas)
  • Hemangiomas
  • Lymphomas and sarcomas of the head and neck
  • Salivary gland tumors and parotid masses
  • Thyroid lesions including cysts and tumors
